So you get an e-mail about an ‘exclusive image’ …

Friday April 20th 2012

You’re immediately surprised that the film in question is Katy Perry: Part of Me in 3D. You wonder what exactly the point of an ‘exclusive image’ is when a full trailer, containing 3024 distinct images, has already been released. You wonder how many bloggers are being offered this ‘exclusive’ when the e-mail is so clearly a mass mailout. You speculate that the image isn’t really an ‘exclusive’ at all if it’s already on the movie’s Facebook page (which you make a mental note to link to). You decide that the term ‘exclusive’ needs to be more clearly defined when used in conjunction with online movie marketing. You conclude that this exclusive image better be pretty fucking great if so much fuss is being made over it.

You were not expecting that.
