… but then again it’s not every day Sky Movies launch their ‘Road Trip Season’ and send out the following press release:
‘Sky Movies would like to invite you to join them on a road trip from the comfort of your sofa. Over 6 nights, they will be showcasing some of the funniest and most outrageous films of this genre. The season kicks off with The Bounty Hunter, starring Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler and takes you on a series of journeys all over the globe.’
Now, while I’d argue that Due Date, Road Trip and Get Him to the Greek don’t necessarily represent the highest water marks of the road movie genre, I’ve got no problem whatsoever with any season that justifies an HD simulcast of EuroTrip. The details of this important cultural milestone are as follows:
Tuesday 26th June, 10pm, Sky Movies HD
As we all know, EuroTrip has long been cruelly overlooked by Dreamworks Home Entertainment’s high definition division, despite the roaring success of its DVD release in the nation’s bargain bins and charity shops. So next Tuesday’s broadcast presents a rare opportunity to view the film as its creators intended. And were you to be a shameless criminal entirely devoid of scruples, you could even record it, burn a copy to Blu-ray and sent it to me. But obviously that would be a DISGRACEFUL act. So don’t do it. Unless you really, really want to.
