Embargoed: The Expendables

Wednesday August 4th 2010

I went to see The Expendables last night and while I was there I signed an embargo saying I wouldn’t talk about the film. It was only when I got home that I actually read what I’d signed:

All editorial coverage, which includes any in print, broadcast (TV & Radio)and online (including all social media sites – twitter, facebook etc), is embargoed until 12:00 noon Los Angeles time (EST) / 8:00pm London Time (GMT) on Wednesday 4th August 2010, unless otherwise agreed in writing with Lionsgate UK.

Apart from the fact that it’s a grammatical minefield, it’s interesting that it only prohibits reviews until 8pm tonight. Maybe they’re hoping critics will have forgotten how bad (or good – I couldn’t possibly say which) the movie is in the intervening 24 hours.

Anyway, there’s no way I’m doing three posts in one day, so if you want to read about how much of a soul-destroying humourless waste-of-space The Expendables is, you’ll have to wait until later in the week.
