Belated Review: Remember Me

Monday August 16th 2010

I was quite eager to see Rememeber Me when it came out back in April but it was distributed by E1, who are the fucking shittest distributor on the planet and seem determined to prevent anyone actually seeing any of their films, so I missed the press screenings (if there were any) and then sort of forgot about it for a while.

It wasn’t long though, before I started hearing about the film’s supposed Worst. Ending. Ever. Once again, I became desperate to see the film and find out what could possibly be so bad that it merits discussion in a year when movies with terrible, terrible endings are pretty much par for the course.

So I saw the film on Blu-ray the other day and in all honestly, the ending really is that bad. It’s a catastrophic miscalculation that instantly devalues everything that came before it, including some pretty good performances from RPattz and Claire from Lost.

If you haven’t seen the film (or read spoilers online) you will no doubt be tempted to watch it and experience the awfulness for yourself, but whatever you do, however you go about viewing the film…

It will only encourage them.
