The annual Film4 FrightFest weekender (of ‘website that must have been designed in 1994’ fame) returns to the Empire Leicester Square this August (25th to 29th) and the line-up is pretty fucking exciting. Opening with the Guillermo del Toro-produced creature feature Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark, the festival boasts UK, European and World premieres of over 40 horror movies and climaxes with the UK premiere of British hiking-thriller A Lonely Place to Die.
Other highlights include Final Destination 5, Fright Night, Troll Hunter, Kill List and Robin Hardy’s long-awaited Wicker Man sequel The Wicker Tree.
I’m hoping to be there come August, so get ready for extended coverage of all the best horror movies, panel discussions and sweaty overweight men in hooded tops. Weekend, day and single film tickets are available here.
