How I went slightly near the Harry Potter premiere

Thursday July 7th 2011

I was in central London today so I thought I’d swing by Trafalgar Square, where the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 premiere is taking place, to have a gander. As I approached down The Mall, the screams of Potter fans in their thousands could be heard from 200 yards away. The square itself appeared to have been closed off after the fan enclosures filled up so I didn’t really get to see anything, although the distant shout of Alex Zane (is there any job he doesn’t get?) announcing the arrival of Rupert Grint was met with an audience reaction that must have broken most of the windows in W1. Cool story, eh?

Did I ever tell you about the time I met Daniel Radcliffe? No? Maybe I’ll save it for a rainy day.
