Sam Taylor-Wood’s Nowhere Boy to close LFF

Monday August 3rd 2009

THIS JUST IN (well, not ‘just’ in, the e-mail came at 11:32 but I was out until about 4:20 so I didn’t read it until then)

Nowhere Boy, the debut feature from British artist Sam Taylor-Wood will close this year’s London Film Festival on the 29th October. Here’s what STW had to say for herself:

For the past year I have lived and breathed this film. It’s been one of the most transforming experiences of my life. For Nowhere Boy to be chosen to close the London Film Festival, in a city I grew up in and which continues to inspire me is truly amazing.

All good.

To be honest, I’m about 100 times more excited about this than the Fox movie. Film festivals are all about overtly arty films if you ask me (reading this blog constitutes as asking me).

Plus, her short film Love You More, which showed at last year’s festival, looked tipple topple:

Here are the dates, ‘for your diary’:

9TH SEPTEMBER – Full programme announced at Press Launch
14TH OCTOBER – World premiere of The Fantastic Mr. Fox
29TH OCTOBER – World premiere of Nowhere Boy
