What has happened to Joe Wright? Atonement was obviously incredible. The Soloist, which incredibly has twice the budget, is obviously not.

It’s not really boring, it’s just never engaging either. For 117 minutes it hovers uncomfortably between good and bad, interesting and mundane, until it’s over and then you forget that it ever happened.

The most interesting thing about it is Robert Downey Jr’s stupid hat.

I know this probably won’t happen in a double feature over here, but we can dream.
