Ultra Culture Cinema returns to the ICA this November for a special preview of Sightseers, Alice Lowe and Steve Oram’s superlative British road comedy. Already destined to become a mainstay at rep houses and midnight screenings, the film sees fledgling caravaners Chris and Tina traverse the British Isles in search of brave new worlds, bold new visions and a trip to the Keswick Pencil Museum — home to the world’s very first pencil.

dir. Ben Wheatley / 2012 / 88 minutes
Aspect ratio: 2.35:1 / Digital projection / Rated 15

As tensions mount and relationships sour, the pair push good old fashioned British holidaymaking to the limit, under the watchful (and intermittently horrific) eye of major league mindfucker Ben Wheatley. The result is 88 minutes of warped, weird and wildly hilarious business from two of the UK’s most unsung comedic talents.

And with anticipation for the film now reaching near-priapic levels, you’ll want to book early for this chance to see Sightseers almost a month before its release, with all the requisite pre-show bollocks you’ve come to expect from Ultra Culture Cinema. In the words of the film’s exec producer Edgar Wright, these are previews ‘so cool and awesome that the ICA now stands for the Institute Of Cool Awesomeness. Be there and thank me later.’

Here’s everything you need to know about Ultra Culture Cinema #10:
